USCIS Lengthens Validity of EAD Cards for Pending AOS to 5 years
USCIS has revised its policy manual to allow it to issue EAD cards for five years for individuals applying based on a pending adjustment of status. Previously, USCIS has granted work authorization for individuals with a pending adjustment of status application for two years.
This change will hopefully reduce the administrative burden for applicants and the USCIS, especially when priority dates retrogress.
USCIS has not yet announced whether the new five year period may be applied to advance parole approvals as well.
