TPS Extended for Ethiopia, Burma, Syria, and Cameroon

The Department of Homeland Security has announced the extension and redesignation of Ethiopia, Burma (Myanmar), Syria, and Cameroon for TPS. This means that individuals who already have TPS are able extend their stay and work authorization and that individuals who have not previously held TPS are able to apply for initial approval.

Please note that the extension of TPS for each country automatically extends the validity of existing work authorization documents. The presentation of a TPS EAD with an expired date for an individual from each country and a copy of the Federal Register notice is sufficient to demonstrate work authorization for I-9 purposes. A new valid EAD or receipt notice is not needed to demonstrate work authorization through the auto-extension dates listed below.
